Building a climate resilient future, today

Carbon Smart, Climate Resilient.
Housing, Communities, & Investments

Footprint develops, owns and manages carbon-smart, climate-resilient, multifamily housing in walkable, bikeable, transit-rich Minneapolis, MN neighborhoods.

Our approach to development is rooted in the latest building-science to produce enduring, low carbon footprint, low operating cost, climate-resilient assets that meet our community’s rising demand for healthier, quieter, attainably priced housing where people can live, work, and play.

Our projects

  • Solstice Apartments

Bleeding edge combination of low embodied carbon and ultra energy efficient design.

Twenty-three 1- and 2-bed Passive House certified units in the heart of Northeast Minneapolis, MN, the stats on this bike & transit oriented project speak for for themselves:

    30% reduction in construction emissions
    70% lower operating emissions
    40% powered by rooftop solar
    90th percentile air quality
    90th percentile sound attenuation

  • Carbon Smart Apartments, Minneapolis

Footprint’s first innovative infill project included the preservation of an existing duplex, and the removal of a 3-car garage to construct six energy efficient, low carbon footprint apartments.

The super insulated building achieved >20% reduction in embodied carbon emissions. Equipped with all electric HVAC and a rooftop solar array…the building delivers superior comfort, air quality and financial performance with radically lower carbon emissions.
